After 20 years together, we made it official!
Joséphine was incredibly professional, warm and kind to us as well as the other guests, almost feeling like she was part of the celebration! Yet, when we received the pictures we were speechless by the quality of her work! I don’t know how she did that but she managed to capture the warmth that we all felt on that day and when I showed the pictures to family and friends, they all commented how good and happy we looked and also how lovely the pictures are. Apparently, the present for the first anniversary is paper, so I am slowly working on the photo album…. which is a good thing as all pictures are of excellent quality and I cannot decide which one to add!

If you also want an intimate wedding, don’t hesitate to book Joséphine as your wedding photographer. She’s a treasure!

Josephine is the most amazing photographer, we hugely recommend her. She joined us for a really small family wedding and took the most beautiful pictures whilst all making us all feel really comfortable. She was a big part of our day and we're really grateful that she's both an amazing photographer and such a kind, lovely person too! THANK YOU JO!

Joséphine took the most amazing photographs of my weeding. She has a real talent to create soulful memories. Joséphine was so professional and warm with everyone at the party. I would highly recommend her services.

We are blessed to have had Josephine's professionalism, creativity, sharp eyes, warmth and confidence as our wedding photographer. She was a critical part on our big day. Josephine has a talent for pulling out and capturing the intimacy and beauty of people's special occasions. She was incredibly encouraging and comfortable to work with. My wife and I put our trust and comfort in her hands, and we told her we wanted her to express her creativity since we know that artists particularly photographers know better or best than non-creative professionals. We felt so comfortable being guided during the photography session. Her charm and her kindness coupled with her creative dynamism is unmatched by anyone I have worked with. Her ability to work with people for special life events is just as impeccable and dynamic as her creativity as an artist and photographer. We will never forget this day. Thank you so much Josephine for beautifully and elegantly capturing a critical part of our lives.

Josephine's photos of our wedding were absolutely fantastic, I was quite nervous about booking a photographer as I've been to so many weddings with intrusive photographers who took ages over the pictures. Josephine was wonderful, got some brilliant, informal shots that really captured both my husband and I, and our guests. She was unobtrusive on the day whilst managing to photograph all the key moments of our ceremony and reception dinner - she even managed to finally get a picture our quite elusive two year old daughter! We are still enjoying looking through our photographs, she has captured some lovely memories that will be with us for many years ahead now. Josephine fitted straight in with our family and friends and it was a pleasure to have her at our special day.

I’m Joséphine Elvis, a London wedding photographer creating modern imagery for couples in love. I was born and raised in the same city as photography, so in a way, you could say I was born to do it. (There’s less bad puns and more nice photos from here on in, don’t worry.)

However, my love for photography stems from so much more than my birthplace! My main drive is connecting with people and showcasing their genuine emotion. That is my jam. Without a doubt, both of these are key elements of candid wedding photography. That means that there’ll be no awkward moments or cheesy poses. I’ll be snapping all the crucial little moments, and I’ll do it as part of the flow of the day. You won’t really notice I’m there at all because I will just blend with your guests I’ll be documenting rather than dictating.

This remarkable, genuine connection follows me everywhere: I find that very often, strangers will come up to me and tell me their life story. This strong connection with people I’ve never met before is, alongside an artistic eye, part of what makes me good at what I do as a people photographer – it means I can identify and capture the moments that matter the most to you.

For this reason, my favorite weddings to shoot are always those that represent you as a couple, rather than traditions or trends. There’s so much more to see, to feel, and to immortalise that way.

When I’m not photographing weddings, families or events, you’ll often be able to find me getting inspired at the Tate, the Barbican, or some independant museum or gallery (just look for the woman with a stranger talking to her – that’s probably me!) Alternatively, I love to satiate my curiosity by going somewhere new and getting totally, blissfully lost – whether it’s cycling the streets of London or solo backpacking around the world, I’m an inquisitive soul who’s always seeking adventure. (This, too, feeds into what I love about being a wedding photographer; you’re about to set off on an incredible adventure, and I get the privilege of capturing the start of that for you.) On top of that, I also love great food (hence my love of a good pub wedding), being environmentally conscious, and I love to listen to jazz – Miles, Chet and Nina are my favourites.

If you want to talk weddings, life stories and all that jazz (or, quite literally, jazz), pop me a message here.
