A Sunlit September Celebration at Château Gassies

One warm September afternoon Melanie and Tyler celebrated their love at the magnificent Château Gassies, a hilltop estate overlooking the vineyards near Bordeaux. The couple, who now live in New York, wanted a wedding that blended their cosmopolitan lives with the elegance of French heritage. For Melanie, whose family is originally from France but moved to the U.S. when she was little, it was a sentimental homecoming; for Tyler, it was the perfect setting for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration surrounded by friends and family from across the ocean.

The festivities began with an intimate pre-wedding dinner, where guests enjoyed exquisite food and live music from two gifted performers. There was laughter, wine, and heartfelt speeches from the parents, as such the evening set the tone for the joyful weekend to follow.

The next day we had a flawless blue sky. The ceremony, officiated by Tyler’s brother, took place under a spectacular floral arch; a romantic backdrop framed by the château’s manicured gardens. When Melanie walked down the aisle with he father and her brother, the air filled with a quiet hush.

Following the vows, the cocktail hour spilled out onto the sun-drenched terraces. As guests sampled the best of French gastronomy (especially the local oysters, a regional delicacy that became an instant favorite among the American guests!) there was the beautiful sounds of laughter and clinking of glasses. The renowned Deval Traiteur outdid themselves with an elegant presentation and flavors that was tasty for the eyes as it was for the tastebuds.

As the sun dipped, dinner was served; a gourmet feast paired with speeches that drew tears and applause. Then came the dancing, where the guests let loose and enjoy the DJ and saxophone player.

Every moment of Melanie and Tyler’s Château Gassies wedding was a seamless fusion of French charm and New York sophistication, an unforgettable celebration of love, family, and the beauty of coming home.
